Netherlands 2023 Part 3

This one is a long one so for those who want the abridged version, let’s start with a video.

Egmond aan Zee

A Beautiful seaside town with all the usual trappings. Cafe’s, gift shops, sand and a lovely lighthouse.

IJmuiden aan Zee

An underrated beach with miles of sand and great cafes. Also an amazing quay that stretches a kilometre into the sea. Had to go on it of course.

Amsterdam

My first time so we tried to pack a lot into this day as you will see.

Forteiland IJmuiden

Back in IJmuiden as it was our base for a few days is this amazing Island fort. Well worth the boat ride.

Velsen-Zuid

A beautiful historic town along the North Sea Canal (which is an amazing bit of engineering in its own right).

Haarlem

One of my favourite spots in The Netherlands. It has everything that Amsterdam has to offer in a smaller slightly more relaxed package. We also spent a rainy afternoon in the Teylers Museum, the oldest museum in The Netherlands.

Back again for some wanderings, street art & sculpture.

Amersfoort

Recently voted European city of the year and it’s no wonder. We spent a few days there and fell in love with it.

Another stop for coffee and a motionlapse

Sadly, it was time to go home (for now).
