Netherlands 2023 Part 2

After a quiet weekend in Friesland it was time to hit the road and start exploring. As anyone who knows me can attest to, I love a good road trip.

But first a video

Zeist

East of Utrecht is a lovely little town called Zeist. We decided to have wander and a coffee because we could.

Voorne

Our base for a few days was this tranquil location. Lots to explore and who doesn’t like cannons & sheep?

Tiel

A historic town nestled between two rivers. Didn’t stay long on this trip but we’ll be back.

Buren

But first this awesome bus shelter artwork.

Strong ties to Dutch royalty. Something about William of Orange falling in love here.

Sint Andries

An amazing Sluis (that’s a lock on a canal for us English speakers) with a nearby fort to play in.

⁨Kröller-Müller Museum⁩

But first, this amazing tribute to Canadian soldiers from the Second World War located nearby.

The ⁨Kröller-Müller Museum⁩ is located in a massive park. and being Dutch, they have you park outside and ride bikes through it. Amazing. It also hosts “one of the most amazing Van Gogh collections in the world” but we didn’t go in there. Maybe next time.

Where to next?
