Patron

pa·tron
/ˈpātr(ə)n/
noun
  1. – a person who gives financial or other support to a person, organization, cause, or activity.
“a celebrated patron of the arts”

I moved from the UK to Canada at a young age and never really felt that I fit in. I hear that is common of people in my demographic so there you have it. In my early teens I discovered Punk Rock and other misfits became my friends. Life started to make sense. I still felt like a bit of an outsider even in the outsider gang, so I began to explore. Always with a camera.

Life went on and I raised most of my family in Canada and for many years had an amazing social circle and a tight family. Canada has been good to us.

For the past few years, I lived a bit of the “digital nomad” life, either creating websites, online courses, or A/V for organizations in various parts of North America & Europe. Always with a camera or two attached to my body. Wanderlust has taken hold of me and won’t let go.

Those of you who know me personally know that 2023 was a tough year for me and my family; first with the passing of my younger sister and shortly after, Alzheimers took my father away. As a family, we are healing but it will be a long process.

So, back to the question “Why become a patron?”

After moving back to Canada, I’ve had to take on multiple jobs just to make ends meet and I feel my work life balance is a bit off kilter.

So I am humbly asking you dear reader (or is that viewer) to help support me in my journey of photography and video to keep creating content for you to enjoy for years to come. I can also then work on books, calendars and other goodies.

That’s why. Plus, you get free stuff and that’s always cool.
